Alongside his MSc in Building Surveying and BSc in Civil Engineering, Awais is currently studying an MSc in Philosophy — a natural extension of the careful reasoning, clear communication and human judgement he brings to risk and compliance work.
Away from buildings and reports, he loves cricket, competitive board games, collecting Pokémon cards and finding the best places to eat in London — the playful side clients quickly get to know in person.
His working method is straightforward: attend the building in person, inspect what is actually there rather than what the drawings claim, and write the findings in language a freeholder, a landlord or a facilities manager can act on the same week. Every action in a report is prioritised, costed in principle, and tied to the specific duty it satisfies.
That approach is why he is trusted with the harder work — higher-risk residential blocks, multi-site commercial estates, and temporary event structures where the assessment has to stand up to scrutiny from a local authority or a fire and rescue service.
